Disaster! (Continuation from Unknown Laboratory)

Post by Pascal on Sun Jul 17, 2011 1:48 pm

As the animus showed the random lines everywhere, Pascal saw himself slowly change clothes and features to become his ancestor, Ephraim Al`Sandiq, of whom he now feels acquainted with. He felt the knowledge of years of training enter his mind and he felt the urge to stride forward, although there was nothing to walk to. As he felt fear and anticipation enter his mind, the land around him started generating. Small houses appeared around him as he started walking up a large hill. To his right walked a familiar friend.

"Hello, Dwaline, it's good to see you walking around again."

"Hello, brother. It is good to be around again. So, do you know why we are gathering? Why Altair has called us together?"

"Yes, Altair took this past week we've been back to gather all of the Assassins from Acre, Jerusalem and Damascus as well as around the kingdom so he could speak with us about our next actions and how we may be able to retake our spot in Jerusalem...although it is currently completely under Templar control with the bureau compromised..."

The two assassins arrived at the top of the large hill and waited for the large gates of the Assassin's Base to open. On top of the gate, Ephraim waved as he spotted Fidan, one of the survivors of the Jerusalem incident.

As they entered, the training circle was empty, along with its surroundings. Everyone was surely waiting in the courtyard to hear Altair's speech. Ephraim reached back towards his feather behind his ear...No, now is not the time...I must be patient...vigilant...if I'm to redeem...

But, he was awoken from his thoughts as they entered the back courtyard. Ephraim chose to make his way to a group of Assassins to the right, leaning next to the railing going down to the lower level. This group included younger Assassins closer to Ephraim's age that were still going through training. Ephraim was a quick learner, of that, he was very proud. He lost sight of Dwaline, assuming he found his own group to commune with. Any time now, Altair would make his way out to the platform with his right hand man Malik to speak to his...'subjects'.

(OOC: You guys can make your entrance and then I'll rp what Altair says...orr...if any of you guys want to rp him...sure!)

Liopan was slouched against a wall, he was clearly intoxicated from time in the tavern and used the wall to keep himself from falling. As he used the wall to move around the courtyard, he saw Ephraim in the crowd, and began to stumble his way toward him. He slapped him on the back lightly. "Hey Ephraim, know what this meeting's about?" He asked jollily with a friendly smile. "Hope it's nothing too bad, I spent way to much time in the tavern." He said looking to the ground to keep from getting dizzy from the world spinning.

Usually the old friend would slap a silly grin across Ephraim's face but, today way not that sort of day. "Good to see you Liopan," he weakly smiled, "Yes, sadly it is grim news that brings us to gather today...Altair is probably going to give us a plan of action for taking back a place to keep a bureau in Jerusalem...what else, I'm not sure."

Ephraim didn't have the stomach to speak of the betrayal aloud yet...he'd leave that pleasure for Altair. As he looked up into the sky, he saw a large vulture circling the castle. Even the birds know of our faith, he thought as he viewed the dark omen.

But, for now he could relax, at least until the whole of the Assassins had reported for the meeting. Perhaps a new assignment would be just what he needed if that's one thing that Altair was going to be talking about.

As the whole crowd was chattering and making plenty of noise, catching up with friends that some haven't seen in years, all was silent once slow, calm footsteps rang through the courtyard. On the eyes of most of the Assassins was a look of great respect and awe of their Master Assassin for he was the one that ended the reign of Al Mualim. That look was not on the face of Ephraim Al`Sandiq. He was there when Al Mualim's life was ended...and he believed that he saw the truth of it...murder. That man looking over the Assassins as a sort of ruler spread the lies among his 'subjects' that Al Mualim was corrupt...insane...evil...

Ephraim did not believe these lies and he knew his mission...but now was definitely not the time...so he kept silent as Master Altair began to speak. "Greetings brothers!" His voice rang through the mass. "I have gathered you here today to, first of all, share some terrible news about the occurrence in Jerusalem..." He paused, obviously shocked by the situation.

"I had sent Brother Rajeet to assassinate a one Rabant Napali, whom is believed to be the current leader of the Templars here in the Holy Land...but, Rabant had gotten to Rajeet apparently...Rajeet has betrayed us all and is no longer our brother! Because of him, Brothers Mulich and Jamion are both dead and Brother Dwaline could have easily been if it wasn't for the bravery of Brothers Alistair, Liopan and Ephraim."

Once he paused, there was an uproar amongst the Assassins. Rajeet was a well known and respected member of the Order and many here trained under him. How could he have left the order so callously and blatantly? At that point, Jabal stood from his corner of the courtyard and began to speak with his quiet but confident tone. "But Master Altair? How can we be certain that Rajeet has left us if only one set of eyes saw it happen? Dwaline thought he was dead!"

This made Fidan very angry. "What!? You don't trust me old man!? I saw him with my own eyes!"

As the two grew into a loud argument, Ephraim thought it was best for him to step in. "Although many of the details on what happened in Jerusalem are in question, I also saw Rajeet with Rabant as if they were brothers. Dwaline was losing a lot of blood and he's still recovering."

There was a long pause as Jabal sat back down and Fidan grew silent but still obviously full of hate. "The fact is that we failed in protecting our Bureau in Jerusalem and need to find a new one for activities there, but until then, I need to make a few changes at our other Bureaus. Our former leader in Damascus has chosen to retire, so, I'd like to promote Dwaline to that position...at least until he recuperates. Along with our Bureau leaders however, it seems it would be wise to take extra precautions. With this in mind, I am making the position of Bureau Assistant so that a Leader will never be alone in a crisis like this. Kito Armalias has recently satisfied me with his abilities as an assassin and I'm going to promote him to accompany Dwaline in Damascus. For Acre, I'd like to have Fidan accompany Master Jabal."

At that point, Fidan and Jabal rose up to glare at one another. It was commonly known that the two hated each other and disagreed with each other at everything...except...perhaps they agreed that they hated each other. This made Ephraim smile, although his goal was to end Altair's life, he'd be lying if he said he didn't have a sense of humor.

As he stepped down from the overlook, the noise in the courtyard grew back into a dull roar. Many disagreements arose including, probably a more entertaining one between Fidan and Jabal, however, Ephraim needed to keep to his own thoughts as he walked towards the fountain in the lower level. Why didn't he give me a position at either of the Bureaus? I'm obviously more capable than Fidan, Dwaline or Kito...

(OOC: You can give your character's reaction to the thing, have an argument with another assassin, possibly get in a fight or whatever, and then once everyone has posted, I have an idea that'll be interesting with the three of us)

Liopan had fallen to the floor during Altair's speech and began to rock. "Mind helping me walk? I do believe I got way to drunk my friend." he said with a drunken chuckle to Ephraim who had walked off without him noticing.. He attempted to stand but fell over backwards and clonked his head on the wall. Swearing silently he rubbed the back of his head and used the wall to stand again. "I hope I don't get sent on assignment anytime soon. My target may get a lucky hit on me." He said slurring his words a bit he then noticed that Ephraim was gone. "Where'd you go?" He said looking around and saw that the courtyard was a battle ground. He then started to sober up a bit as he tried to figure out what was going on. "KNOCK IT OFF!!!" He shouted over the uproar. Liopan then stumbled into the fighting groups. "If we keep fighting, we'll kill ourselves, and the Templars will have won. Our Fallen brothers will have died in vain, and our cause will have been lost. Master Altair would not want us all fighting, and I am sure that Master Al-Mualim wouldn't want us fighting either. If we are going to fight, let it be against those damn Templars that are giving us such hell, and not against our brothers." He said sounding more angry then drunk now. "What do you know? You're spending more time getting drunk then out on the field!" One shouted that Liopan recognized as Kibal, whom he really didn't like. Liopan chuckled. "I'll tell the truth, if I was going to kill brothers you'd be the first one on my list Kibal, but you're still alive aren't you?" He told him then looked at the rest of the crowd who looked at him in shock. "It's true that I'm a drunk, but I spend my time in the tavern after I complete a mission, and in the company of my brothers in arms, I believe it lightens the edge on the nerves, to keep you from shaking as you thrust your blade into the heart of your target, and those of you that know me know that I like to have a steady hand." He said to everyone around you. "But I have not once struck a brother, not once have I tried to harm a single one of you. I believe that if we keep fighting, Rabant Napali is going to march into our home and find nothing but bodies and have no resistance in killing off the survivors." He said calmly and rationally. "Think it over." Was all he said as he stumbled out of the courtyard.

Liopan laughed a bit. "I'm fine, just a little drunk, and a dash pissed off." He said as he held up his finger and thumb within a quarter of an inch close. He then began to laugh. "Thank god no one hit me though. I may have had to incapacitate them." He said with a friendly smile. "Where were you Alistair?" He asked as he felt the familiar wave of the world spinning. "Were you there to hear my speech? pretty damn good for a drunk man huh?" He asked with a chuckle.

Liopan pulled himself out from under Alistair's support. "Thanks for the help, my friend, I think I'm gonna go pass out in a haystack or something. Need to sober up, I'm pretty sure Altair's gonna need his death hand in top condition here soon." He said with a hearty laugh before waving to Alistair his good byes. He found a haystack as he had said, face planted into it, and began to snore.
